Congrats on a great hunt.  I would love to hunt with my wife one day.  Best write up I have ever read.

:dunno:

So... I am looking for a new house as we speak... when I get it... I'll get my tools put back together... Carpsniper is probably gonna be number one bow off the press (although... Lady Luck may trump him... sorry dude)...

Weak :chuckle:

Congrats on your bull. Sounds like a great time.

Doug... you need to get on some Idaho and or Washington elk!!

I tell myself I am giving them a couple years to grow up.  (soccer will be over by then)   that and I need to shake this mule deer bug.   I have it something fierce.

Awesome hunt and story!

I've done the overloaded pack as well, both hind quarters and leg meat of a CO bull.  Luckily my multiple mile hike was all downhill, though I started at about 11,500 feet.  I was also much younger than I am now.

Thanks for all the nice compliments on the story guys. I really enjoy writing it down afterwards ... helps me remember and appreciate it even more. And... I have about 6-8 of these stories documented on these sites that I can go back and look at now and again!

Gonna try and get Becky into one this weekend!!!

Looking forward to it. Hope he can get the fixed. Just reading the story got me going. Had to go check the regs again to see when I can get back out. Looks like it may be unit 163 late hunt. Anyone hunt this unit, know what the terrain looks like. Going to google earth it tonight. Have a friend in Cheney I think has hunted it may meet him down there.
