Thanks for the review. Was that for just the frame, or frame and pack combo?

Does this pack cinch down well if you only want to hunt with day 2,500in2 of stuff and save the rest of the volume for packing out meat? Or should a hunter buy a smaller pack and a separate pack frame?

That is a great buy on the pack for sure,

I bought one last summer. While packing an elk last fall the shoulder strap separated during the pack out, I did have 90+ lbs on it,
Good buy for the money, but in my opinion not the greatest quality
Probably be fine as long as you keep the load weight down :twocents: :twocents: :hello:

The bag has draw strings in the top and bottom. I have never really tried to cinch mine down. But i have used it as a day pack. It all depends on how deep i am going in. Would rather have it with me and save a trip to go out and get it.

I have had around 100 lbs in mine and no issues. I have had a few buckles break but alps customer service is great i just emailed my issues and they were quick to get me replacement parts free of charge.

Thanks for all the insight everyone. I have been kicking around the idea of getting a pack frame for a couple years but have never bit the bullet. I primarily hunt wheat fields and have a game cart so there isn't much of a need. However I would like to eventually start chasing elk again and this seems like a great way to start out. If I don't order one before, this is certainly going on my Christmas list.
