They didn't take or destroy the camera, i am guessing they just didn't want their pic on there

That was my thought, especially in a wilderness area.

One point to think about is that ALW is the #1 most visited wilderness area in America. You guys might think you are deep in the woods away from anywhere someone might travel but so does the other hunters and hikers and we all know that there is more than a handful of people out there who do not appreciate finding cameras and bait piles in the wilderness.

I decided this year not to waste my time putting out my camera and bait because the truth is if you really want to know what is in the area you can probably find someone else's camera within a 1/4 mile.  I also find it much easier to carry a digital camera than to pack a gallon of stump licker and a game camera in the woods.

Sorry to hear about your camera!   :bash: :bash:

And even more sorry to hear there are guys on hear that sound as though they almost support it.   :dunno: :dunno: ...  I see it on almost every "trail cam stolen thread" and it baffles me every time.   :dunno: :bash: :bash:

Does anyone on here think that LEO's might be taking some of these cameras and SD cards?

ok so i am not for it at all, but  my question is why wasn;t your cam locked? or did they cut the lock?  And if you camera is on public land it can happen, i have stumbled on a trail cam in a public area and i just left it alone.... went back same place a week later and it was gone... i am saying that theft of any kind is wrong but if you put it on public land you can;t really be upset it got messed with like people said before at least no one stole you camera

I hate to say it but, anything left on public lands is expected to be stolen. So, all though I feel for you guys, you really can't bitch.

I hope this guy doesn't swing by your camp while you are out hunting. After all, you left you tent and gear unattended on public land....

Wrong.....

Some of you guys kill me. Your attitude is, leave my stuff alone, it's mine, unattended for weeks on end, and you expect people not to steal it, grow up.........

i agree, I also don't get!  It's really no different than putting up a tent in the backcountry and expecting it to be left the hell alone.  It's really not hard to see someone camera or what ever in the woods and leave it the F alone.

Don't leave your crab pots out, campmeat might snag em.... Make sure you lock your whole camp up, coolers, generator, etc. hell lets go shoot some free range angus while were at it, they are on public land!!! The farmers have to expect some to get shot right? I'm gonna laugh when you leave your beloved side by side alone while hunting and it gets stolen or vandalized, that is if you ever leave it?.....

No personal property can be left unattended for more than 48 hours in the wilderness. I did not know this until a ranger taught me on mile three into the wilderness with a cam and food block. Made me walk them back out. Could be an Leo putting a case together for illegal wilderness activity.

I wouldn't ever leave that fandangled thing behind.  I bet it has heated seats...   :hello:  I wouldn't steal the side by side, but I might tear the ignition out and hotwire it, to warm up on the heated seats though.

I just love it how you guys complain about a $100 camera to stealing and vandalizing a $15000 SxS or a $55000 truck. You guys really show your colors. There's a huge, huge difference.
