But like we have established, expecting it to be gone doesn't make it right. I don't see items in the woods and try to establish if they have been left there. I know it's not mine and I leave it be. If my truck broke down I'd be pissed if some low life took advantage and stole or messed it up cause I couldn't get back there in time to not fall under abandoned free to take timeline you keep referring to. I'm considering hanging my trail cam just to park in the woods. Hopefully the thieves are ok with their pics taken.

That's some BS. It happens too often, although usually there is a whole camera and tree stand to go with it. I have walked past many a unlocked trail cam and I do what any respectful hunter would do...moon it and trek on.
