doesnt matter if he was exercising or what he was hunting (but he said he was lookin for deer), either way,  its a rifle restricted area
This says the guy said he was looking for deer. As mentioned, out looking for deer and hunting deer are very different.

If he said he was hunting deer, then I agree with calling it in. If he said he was looking for deer, then I think ya jumped the gun a lil.

You might as well be a poacher making a statement like that.

 :chuckle:
So if I take a rifle into the woods while I scout for deer I'm a poacher? Glad to see all the internet wardens are out in force

:yeah:  I generally have a rifle if I'm scouting.

Pre 16, that's how I got out into the woods, on top of a ten speed with a rifle strapped to my back.   This day and age would probably get all sorts of attention.  That day in age, we parked in the highschool parking lot with guns in the gunracks.

Shark probably had the most accurate assessment.

Must have been a tribal member then. Or he was a poacher. The type of gun is irrelevant if he's hunting deer out of season.
tribal or not he still couldnt have a rifle there, not allowed for anyone. and its not a tribal hunting area anyways last i knew
The Hwy 18 corridor is definitely a tribal hunting area. And if they were tribal then they could use any firearm.

The firearm restrictions you are referring to only applies to hunters hunting under WA laws, not tribal. If they were tribal and had a loaded firearm in a vehicle it would be a different story.

i bet if one of the "cool kids" on hunt wa posted this it would be 17 pages of "those dirty sob's" by now, I guess this is what I get for refusing to be a sheep. Imagine that, sheep on a sheep hunting site :chuckle:
No sheep, KC. It's like this. Nobody broke any laws. That same guy could have walked down Main St and not have broken any laws.
Who are the cool kids?

I love reading these threads. Someone starts a post and gets all these scenarios. He did say, " ( he said he was lookin for deer)" in his second post. Then denied it and said something else, then said it's all the same. It was his rant and he wanted us all to jump on board with him, but when other question came up he got butt hurt. LMAO. This has been a good read keep it up. BTW, O?????? I won't go there. :chuckle:

for the 10th time, the man said he was HUNTING DEER, he had no bow, just a high caliber rifle, its not modern season and its a rifle restricted area, and if all that was allowed he had no orange.  lord didnt i say all this in the "opening" post
Not really. You said he stated he was looking for deer and you interpreted it to mean hunting deer. As bigtex stated, the firearm restriction only applies if you are hunting. Also, last time I checked, you don't have to wear orange to carry a gun.

For argument sake. If he was only looking for deer, while out bear hunting (reason carrying the rifle) he was still in a firearm restricted area. ...........
I never said he was looking for bear. Maybe he was simply scouting (LOOKING FOR) deer like the second post of this thread states that is what the man said.  :dunno:

Yep.  The guy could have been out scouting for deer and brought his rifle for protection.  He may not have a pistol to carry for protection.  I assume it is legal to carry a rifle in a firearm restricted area in case he needs it for protection.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

He might have been just figuring things out for a deer hunt.  I agree with the rifle but riding up and down the powerlines he could be doing a lot of things.   Like getting his heart rate up and trying to get this breathing down to keep the scope on target.  There are many things I can think of....

Now if you were nice and approached him he would have responded like wise. But if you came at him with respect my authority I bet he was just messing with you.  If he was messing with you I think he won...

One thing to keep in mind is that KC actually talked to the guy.  So he was able to get an impression from the guys body language, demeanor, and tone when he talked.  A lot can be determined by all that when speaking to someone that can't be relayed in an internet post.

 :yeah:

Funny how many people are inventing scenarios out of the few sentences of the OP.
