BIG KITTY
« on: December 12, 2008, 02:11:14 AM »
found this sucker on another website. It says its from bellevue wa.
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

Loving life in the Great Northwest one day at a time.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

i posted a picture of this cat a while back, not sure what happened to the thread. I think I got it off the boone and crockett website.

Running into a cat this size would definitely make me nervous.

Pretty close - North Bend as I recall.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Here is what I found on the Boone and Crockett webpage:

HUNTER: Ron Hisler from Duval, WA

GREEN SCORE: 15-12/16

OFFICIAL SCORE: The official entry score for this cougar is 15-7/16

That cat had more rumors circulating about him than Bill Clinton.  He is a big one, and I think it did turn out to be North Bend.  Wasn't it snatching shoppers from the outlet mall or something when he finally racked it down.  :chuckle:

That's right, Doublelung. The hunter is Jim Hackiewicz of Custom Osteo. He used to split his time between the skull/skeleton cleaning service company and being as a PH in Africa. He cleaned a bear skull for me in 2000 and now spends most of his time in Africa. Not sure if he still offers osteo services.

He's a moderator on Jesse's Hunting and Outdoors if you want to contact him about it.

Jim used to live in North Bend but recently moved to the east side.  If I recall, he was not the person who shot the animal but a friend of his did.  The animal was shot out of state, I believe.

Jim, aka JJHACK, can be reached at 24hourcampfire.  Actually, I am surprised I haven't seen him here, although I am fairly new to this site.

No, it was shot close to North Bend by a hunter with Jim.

I bought something from Jim before he moved from North Bend.  I also heard the story about a cougar he killed right at his house in North Bend up close and personal.   :o
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

According to the Boone and Crockett website, the cat was harvested by Ron Hisler of Duval, WA and had an official entry score of 15-7/16.

The story I read stated that Jim called it in to Ron Hisler using a pred call and Mr. Hisler dropped the big cat.
