« on: December 12, 2008, 09:53:57 AM »
A buddy of mine in B.C. just sent me these pics.  Supposedly a Northern B.C. Bull.  Incredible animal.  Bonus being to get it out with a quad!!!

That is a huge bull, but is posted on the Bowsite as being from Ontario.

Until you're standing in bow range you have no idea how big they really are. I hit mine dead center below the top of the hump and above the chest and the blood was eye level smeared all through the bushes and xmas trees. I know I'm not tall but still.

No way thats a Shiras. If it came from northern B.C it is a Yukon or mix with Canadian and Yukon. But neverless it is a brute..

You're right.  It is Definately not a Shiras.  I thought Bucklucky was referring to a previous poist made by huntnphool.  I assumed the moose huntnphool shot must have been a Shiras.  If memory serves me, this moose would be considered (by Boone & Crockett)a BC or Canadian moose whether it came from Northern BC or Ontario.  Regardless, it's a helluva bull

Wow.... although shot in BC that must be an AK/Yukon variety of moose.  I don't think the Canadian subspecies gets that big, do they?  If so, it must be way up there in the books.

Intruder, the Canadian moose subspecies actually get very large.  I believe there is only 20 inches or so of bone seperating the world record Canadian moose from the world record Alsakan Yukon moose.
