Rimrock modern cow permit help
« on: September 30, 2014, 10:54:29 AM »
Hey guys my dad drew a Rimrock cow tag for modern firearm this year. I really want him to get his first elk with this tag because we don't know when he will be able to hunt again. He Leaves for Afghanistan next summer so he will miss the next hunting season and we aren't sure when he will be back. His wife drew the tag as well but she will already be in Afghanistan so she will miss out on the hunt which sucks. I am just trying to do whatever I can to help him out since I can't get over to do any scouting before the season opens. I've been in the area over the summer and in the past but never really got into the elk. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. Please pm me or post any info here.

I want to make our last hunt together as memorable as possible!

Zack

My dad has the any bull tag, so we will be over there 8-9 days before your hunt, I'll share some fresh info from my dad's hunt. Semper Fi!

Get off the roads and you will have a good chance at seeing something.  There are plenty of elk around but it is a zoo during the general rifle season.  I'd head up towards lost lake and dive off the end of the road and hunker down.
