Montana

Starting to get stoked going to Montana deer hunting 3rd week of November. Taking my son on his first deer hunt, wish we had the hunting here that they have in the other western states.

Good luck! Son and I have had good hunts around Lewistown, Fort Peck Reservoir and Roundup.  It's fun seeing all the deer, turkeys, waterfowl, antelope over there.

Id like to look into buying OTC deer and elk tags for Montana. Ready for an out of state adventure.

No, the southeast portion of area 4 didn't get hit as hard.  I was out hunting pheasants down by the Mo a few days ago and could still see carcasses laying down there from last year.  Its bad when theres so many carcasses that the coyotes can't get to them all.

What a shame . Used to be a premier area for whitetails. I stopped hunting in 4 three years ago after seeing more carcasses than live deer. Hopefully recover within a few years. Love that area up in 4 though. I know the locals up there are starting to see more and more grizzlies

thanks for update

I was antelope hunting up between the Teton and Marias rivers off the bootlegger and only saw 10 deer in 3 days. We did see a moose down by the Teton though.

Obviously you probably already know this.  But the CMR closes on November 15 for Mulies.

Get a spotting scope and go watch the brutes that hang out on the east side of the lake.

That part of eastern mt is my homeland.

The deer was freezing faster then we could skin it darn beer froze after one drink :bash: lol. I'll be back  :IBCOOL:
