Request: Pacific NW Hunting Photos for Book
« on: October 01, 2014, 07:13:02 AM »
Hello fellow hunters,

My boss is writing a book on conservation, public lands and the role that hunters have played in championing those causes. He's looking for clear photos that depict the following in Western OR and WA.

1. Big game in their natural habitat (particularly Roosevelt Elk, Columbian Black-tail or Columbian White-tail)
2. Hunters in the landscape (e.g. someone glassing from a ridge, someone in a tree stand, etc.)
3. Hunters and their craft (e.g. tracking, at camp, pack horses, etc.)

The author is NOT interested in: "Trophy Shots" (e.g. pictures of hunter and their quarry) or anything that depicts non-fair chase methods.

We currently have quite a few options for Pacific North West wildlife photography, but finding appropriate photos related to hunting in the PNW has proven difficult. If you have an online album with anything that fits the author's needs, please post a link below, or a photo sample. If you have any recommendations for photographers that aren't a member of this site, please let me know.

I have looked through this forum section a bit already, and have found a few things that the author enjoyed. I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Thanks,

Betsy

A little more info about the Author might help.  Background, previous books or articles they have written, etc.

Yes Boneaddict, that fits the bill for what he is looking for. Thanks for sharing!

This will be the authors first book, but his background is in hunting and conservation. He's on the Boone and Crockett and Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation Board of Directors, and is heavily involved in the world of hunting non-profit organizations and advocacy. I'd prefer to keep some privacy for him, but he is very passionate about the role hunting plays in conservation.

Also, of course if the author is interested in including any photos in his book, we would be in touch about photo rights, royalties, etc.

Contact me at massivemuleys@aol.com if interested in anything you see of mine you like, or have particular interest in (specific animals, etc.)  95% of my stuff is eastside but I have some crest stuff, weird assortment like goats, marten etc.  You may have a call list for specific shots.  You can send that to me as well.   Let me know what your photo requirements are.  I have evolved through different cameras throughout the years, some may not meet pixel requirements for you.    I share a lot of my material, as those posted above on this website so there wont be exclusivity with those shots, if that's a problem, also let me know.
