Anyone use a decoy spreader on their jerk cord? Im thinking of making one but dont know anyone who has used one. Do they work pretty good?

what are you trying to do? My jerk cord has clips spaced out on the cord so my decoys are already spread out...

From what ive been seeing online is the spreader fans the decoys out so they are not in a single file line. I dont know the correct name for this but i like the idea.

I have made a couple.. they work pretty well. i made mine in a diamond shape and i put 4 decoys on it.. then i put 2 or 3 other decoys around it therefore i get a total of 6-7 decoys total that move and get moved around from the ripples and wakes it makes.. if that makes any sense..

We have a few. They don't work very well if your hunting shallow grassy waters. If you have a few feet or deeper they work great.

nalley112- what did you make them out of? Im thinking of using some small pvc or even something like metal coat hangers.

smithjacksonsublette- good to know the original works well! They seem better than just a standard jerk cord setup. Thanks.

I just bought a spreader system from a new company up in Black Diamond. Check out their site. I haven't used it yet, but it was simple to set up and gets the ducks moving.
www.motionducks.com
. It shipped quick also.

Waldo84- thats pretty cool they are a local company. I just watched that demo video last night, didnt know they were here though. I like that setup, its small light and sinks.

mine i made out of hollowed out 1/4' metal rods.. pretty light but a little bulky if you dont want to always take it apart.. works well though.. and my decoys are about 3' apart from eachother..
