Anyone know where I can find a manual that show the tear down for a savage mod. 99A?

videos on youtube, booklets on amazon and ebay  and midway usually has them too.
But easy to start, once the butt pad is off, you need a long flat head screwdriver and remove one screw.  the back pops off and all but the rotary mag is exposed.  Unscrew the fore grip to access the mag.  That real long screwdriver or a ratchet with long extension seems to be the only tool that really causes the project to take longer than necessary.

I just picked one up the other day in 308. It's has sat around for some time so I wanted to do a complete breakdown and cleaning. So what are these worth? It's an early 50's model.

I think sometime in the 50's they changed the design a little.  The way to tell is if it has a sliding tang safety.  If it is one of the old models the safety/leverlock will be underneath behind the trigger.

I looked up the SS# and it said 1951 and the safety is on the top. Thanks for the youtub idea, I keep forgetting about that. I found one on the breakdown looks EZ.
