great job  Sounds like a great time.  Cool your dad started putting in early for you, so that you had a better chance of drawing at an age to really appreciate, and enjoy it. I've been doing the same thing for my son since he was eight.

THANK you!

And with that, I caped him out to the base of the skull. He's in a walk-in cooler (both the cape and the remainder of the hide)

Anyone know a taxidermist interested in a moose cape? Anyone know someone wanting to tan some leather? I'm going to get him European mounted so the cape and hide are ready to head to the right person.
Hirshey,
Call Rod (425)327-4225 on cape. He emailed me when I was already in the Mountains. I didn't cape mine. Was an evening kill and a mile and half pack. To tired to deal with it! Congrats on your harvest!

Thanks for the heads up! I gave him a call and we will most likely try to meet up this evening!
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Great job/animal/story!   I joke that it's not quite fall until the annual Hirshey and Boneaddict stories are out.  :chuckle:
