Fire season started off slowly; we normally head to New Mexico and Arizona in May ...

Did you work the fire in the White Mountains this year?

Each fall we look forward to elk bugles, frosty deer breath in the morning sun, grouse in the fry pan and Hirshey's photo filled stories.  The ride you take us on never fails to deliver excitement and a little bit of jealousy.  Thank you and congratulations...he's beautiful!
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Thank you again! :) So excited!

Also, the cape is still available... it was too big and had too much red in the face to be an appropriate replacement for the other taxidermist that was interested.
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Great job/animal/story!   I joke that it's not quite fall until the annual Hirshey and Boneaddict stories are out.  :chuckle:
:) that is a wonderful compliment.. Thank you!

Nope.. I didn't leave Oregon all summer, with the exception of 7 days in Susanville, California. We were busy on the home-front. I was going nuts not being in the Methow. :-/

Your amazing!!!
Whats your plans for us for the rest of the fall?
Next? Clockum muzzleloader antlerless elk tag, General season Washington deer in Okanogan/Chelan counties, perhaps heading to Oregon to share in the adventure of a gal pal's first elk hunt, then my Idaho mule deer adventurings again. :)

Well I thank you none the less. Heck of a crew out there just like the guys in 2011 for the Wallow Fire. This years fire was mostly on the WMAT Rez and likely pushed a ton of elk into the United States including a nice 6x7 whom like your moose was kindly spared a death in obscurity and will now be admired and respected on the wall for untold generations.  :IBCOOL:
