2nd Deer Permit question
« on: October 05, 2014, 03:36:18 PM »
So I was one of the many who drew a second deer tag for the Pearrygin unit (whitetail doe). When I picked up my special permit and second deer tag, I was told by the Cabelas lady that I needed to print out a screen shot of the what I was selected for and keep everything on me while I am hunting. I have never been drawn for anything so I do not know what to do. I wouldn't think that I would have to print out my own papers, but like I said, what do I know?

Just print the email you received from the wdfw, and keep it on you while hunting.

Thanks guys, I was looking all over the wdfw website and couldn't find anything about it, checked the email again and it said to print it out, oops. I thought I saw that it was for whitetail doe only, but I will have to look again.

I just looked at the regs, where I was confused it listed my hunt with 10 white-tailed deer tags. Called the regional office and they are closed until tomorrow at 8 am. I will be calling them as soon as they open.

Maybe something is different about that unit, but usually when you draw a second deer tag, WDFW sends you your permit (a white and green card), and you have to carry that permit with you during the hunt, in addition to the actual 2nd deer transport tag.

Either species antlerless! But I will be hoping for a whitetail.

Out of pure curiosity, does anyone know why this rule exists (you need both your tag and the green/white card)?

It seems that the tag would be enough...

The green & white permit card identifies you as the permit holder, tells the area, species, and season dates, the tag does not.
