Got it done!
« on: October 05, 2014, 05:29:43 PM »
Soady, so many seasons, so little time!  Good luck on the silvers, and then the local blacktails and elk!  Very good of you to help your buddy out on the freezer filler.  n_mathews13, sounds like a classic hunt- campfires by night and mule deer spotting by day!

I am mentoring a new hunter under the deferral program this year, and I am honestly much more excited about her getting her first deer than me filling any of my tags.  Going to be a great time...  My living room is covered with camo clothing, camo netting, pack frames, and muzzy gear.  One more visit to the rifle range on Sunday.  I'm like a little kid waiting for Christmas at this point!   Good luck everyone.

Just a follow up from the Getting Ready thread.
We got it done by getting my partners Muzzy disabled doe permit filled today at 11:30. My son and I put him on plenty of deer some of them jumping out in front and some behind him. He got it done during a mid morning hunt with the son and I pushing through a CC as he walked a small dead end road below us. He rounded the corner and spots a doe feeding off the shoulder before we could push to him.
Boom! Deer dives into brush makes it about thirty feet downhill and is done. We got him down the hill for the photo shot and the son and I made quick work of the short drag up. His first muzzy blacktail deer!

Sekiu fishing treated us good as well.  My son took his first salt silver! So with this rain coming next weekend we are going river fishing again until late elk, deer.
Loads of fun getting those first time hunts and fishing adventures together. I plan on working just as hard to get my son into his first muzzy deer late season as we came close early season.

It's not the size of the trophy that make's it a trophy.

You may just be one person in this world. But you may be the world to just one person.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. I am looking forward to everyone's stories of their success or failures as it is all about the hunt and time spent with friends and family!
Whatever........
