FINALLY - Wyoming Antelope
«
on:
October 06, 2014, 09:09:19 PM »
I just got back Saturday night from another Wyoming antelope hunt with my two oldest sons and this time I was carrying a tag - and I even got to notch it! This was their third trip for antelope and they each got one also, on the previous two hunts I was along as an observer/pack mule. Even though I got sick enough that I thought I was going to be coming home in a game bag in the back of the truck with the goats, it was one of the most enjoyable trips of my life. Until this year I had been building points for Wyoming antelope, saving up for one of those 'blue chip' units. I always managed to goof up on my apps and so while I was building points, I was never drawing any tag either. Then a couple of years ago my two oldest sons started putting in for tags they could draw and shooting antelope. I decided hunting was more fun than building points and so this year I decided to put in with them as a group and put the points to use as a group. Finally with a tag in hand I was headed to Wyoming, my wife's final instruction to our sons was that I wasn't to come home until I had an antelope, that was fine by me. I can't think of a better way to spend time with my sons.

What a great trip. And, I bet the best part is hunting/spending time with your boys.
