guide advice please
« on: October 08, 2014, 11:18:47 PM »
My dad and I are planning a guided mule deer or muley/white tail hunt for next year. We are considering Montana, Idaho, or eastern Oregon. Criteria: preferably otc tags. Out of the lodge hunts as he doesn't get around quite like he used to though he can still do some hiking. We have been looking into bear paw outfitters. Any advice is much appreciated!

Talk to Bearpaw Outfitters. He's the owner of this site and has gotten high praise from a ton of people on this site. Good guy and works hard to keep you happy.

Hunting whitetails in Idaho might best fit your Dads bill.  You don't have to be very motile.  They do most of the moving.  It is very exciting.  Wolves haven't made as much impact on the whitetails as they have other species.  There are monsters to be had, but even the little ones often come with a lot of adrenaline.  Goodluck on whatever hunt you guys put together.

I say talk to bearpaw, he has a Montana rut hunt in November that is a lot of fun and is pretty easy. The hard part is looking at 20+ bucks in one day!!

I think that's the way we'll go. The fact he owns this site is a major selling point  I think we'll do the Idaho mule deer hunt
