New to WA hunting

Hi all, new to the forum here. I grew up in Idaho and hunted upland and waterfowl my whole life. I recently graduated from college here in Seattle, so am now a WA resident so it's time to figure out the hunting scene here. Unfortunately I don't have a dog, waders or anything up here so my options seem pretty limited. I'm also on a tight budget so I'm hesitant to shell out for the Pheasant license. Do any of the public areas in Snohomish/King County have opportunities for grouse or quail hunting, or for shooting ducks over a field? My plan right now is to just go traipse around some of the areas listed here and see what I can see:

Thanks for any advice! I apologize for all the questions in my first post - I'm just trying to get the lay of the land around here.

Where in Idaho? I'm from Pocatello myself.
Traipsing has been very good for me. I can't help you with Western hunting, but if you venture East I might have a tip or two.
