Made Washington State Records book. What a great buck. I would have thought it would have scored a little more too. With that said, it shows how big those 180" bucks really are. They are few and far between. Congrats on both great bucks.

Has anybody taped the buck's total gross inches? That's all I ever care about score wise. I don't see the need to penalize a deer for any inch he grew, whether it be a kicker or a G4 that is two inches longer than the other.

Isn't that the gross typical score? I am new at the scoring system but I believe the Safari scoring system scores everything with no deductions. My deer I took in last year was scored as a non-typical mule deer and ended up with a final score of 171 inches after 16 2/8 inches worth of deductions. I didn't know before this that a non-typical even had deductions counted. If I add the deductions my total is 187 2/8. So if I am correct, in theory I have a 171 Boone and Crocket and a 187 2/8 Safari deer.
