taking the 7 year old to deer camp. *updated tag filled*
« on: October 15, 2014, 10:08:32 AM »
Asked my daughter the other day if she wanted to go to deer camp with me for 3 days or stay home and go to her best friends birthday birthday party.  Well she chose hunting so i will have her in tow all weekend while trying to fill my doe tag in the 204 unit.  This will be our first overnight hunting trip just the 2 of us.

She seems pretty exited about it went and got her a new camo jacket and a blaze orange vest and hat yesterday.  Should be a great trip tag filled or not.

We made it home from the trip a day earlier than planned since I tagged one the first evening.  We made it to the cabin we were staying at about 2pm unloading the gear and off we went to check out the 1st spot.  Right as we get there I see several deer heading over the hill towards the lower road about 400 yards out. We race up the road about a 1/4 mile bail out rush down the hill to get in front of them and sat for about 5 minutes and here she comes right to us.  She turns and gives me about an 80 yard shot.  After the shot she takes off running for about 80yds. We can see her the whole way and watched her fall.  Daughter was right there to see it all.
