Sweet bucks guys! Thanks for posting. Yoterhunter that looks like some of the timber I hunt. I've got them on cam now I just need to make it happen. So more details guys... Hunting method, time of season, and no need for locations. It's funner finding your own spots anyways!

Question for Bowhunter...what county are you hunting in (if you don't mind the ask that is) :)
That's like asking me what year I was born ...lmao   Just saying  :dunno: :chuckle:

No Problem, figured you might let slip the county since I didn't ask you for the road, canyon or GPS co-ords, but no worry :) Thanks, and good luck to you, hope you nail a big one!

Opening day this year 5:05 PM after hunting less than an hour with my youngest daughter as my guide. Private property, mine, 75 yard shot with a 7mm-08. The hardest part of the hunt was loading it in the side by side. It's better to be lucky than good, if you are good you still need some luck, but if you're lucky you don't even have to be good.  :chuckle: It doesn't hurt to have a good guide also.  :)

I have to tell ya .. I enjoy these blacktail posts the most .. Growing up hunting whitetail took me a while to figure things out but I am relentless when it comes to deer hunting ..Living in a brush pile brings a whole new prospective to how you deer hunt . All I can say is never give up and go every minute you can . I do not care if you only have 15 minutes or 8 hours .. persistence usually pays off as long as you are hunting where there are deer..Find the sign and pound it until you turn blue . I always seem to wake up early because it seems to be the right thing to do but in all reality I do better mid-morning and early afternoon...when most guys think they are bedded down ..Especially in heavily hunted areas.. The buck we seen today was about 10:15 and raining ..

2 or 3 year old clear cuts are the best but I hunt timber too ..Not many hunt timber because most guys like to see them in the open ..If I hunt timber I usually like hunting Big timber with Alder ..That's where they usually hang out ..My biggest one came out of the same year clear cut but that hardly happens ...for me anyway !
