OK - Have a little time for short story on this buck. I have been hunting this same area with my 2 buddies for about 8 years. They have been hunting the area for about 30 years. Lots of big bucks over the years. Anyhow, opening morning we all go our separate ways. At about 7:30am I hear one of my buddies gun shot. Got on the radios and he has a nice 3x3 down. About 10 minutes later, my other buddies gun shot hits the mark on another 3x3. Another radio conversation confirms it. We are about 7 miles in from hiking from our truck. We set-up camp, then hunt from it. My opening day was spent helping my buddies bone out and pack back to camp. Good night followed as you can imagine. Next morning, I set-out on my hunt and my buddies set-out to pack meat back to the trucks and return. At about 11:15am sitting in the same stretch of timber I shot a nice 6x4 2 years ago I see movement. Put the scope on him and saw 4 points and good gerth - I knew instantly it was a good buck (I did not realize it was a 5x5). Next thing I notice getting ready to shoot was another large buck behind him about 20 yards - not as big as other I thought - back to the other buck and off my 300 weatherby mag. went. I hear a big Yeahhhh in the distance. Thought to myself, is someone else all the way in here. Then got on the radios and it was my buddy screaming - he knew it was me - they were packing out across the canyon. Anyhow - great year for us - we have never got 3 down in the same weekend (sometimes 2) - Lots of good pain packing!!! Good luck to all others....

Very nice and well done!
Also, as I was looking at you pics my 11yr daughter was just now walking by as she's getting ready for school. She stopped and looked at your pics too, then says, "dang dad, that's a really nice buck" so for what it's worth you have the approval of an 11yr girl as well.
