If you are paying any more then $500 or so for it, it had better be in original condition.  No peep sights or scope mount holes.  No sling swivels or studs.  Original front/rear sight.  No refinish or reblueing.  Original butt plate.  $1000 is way on the upper end.

I would like to know where you can find a pre 64 model 94 for $500? My dad traded straight across a 64 and a 1/2 model 94 meaning pre 64 parts left over and assembled on machines, in 1988 for a smith model 29-3 that was priced at $500 at Butches gun shop in Seattle. :)

I just picked up a 1921 in a 32 for 500 a few months back. They are around. Uncle just sold a 1948 I believe for 300 in new condition. Wish he had told me.
Wow you guy's are finding the deals for sure.I sold my year 2000 model 94 trapper in 45colt a few years ago for $650 and the guy had been bugging me for awhile to sell it to him.I also sold a 94 big bore in .356win a couple years before that for $675 and both people were happy with the price. :dunno:

Just make sure that it is like new.  There really aren't that many of them anymore in that kind of condition.  Back then men had a hammer, a hand saw and a model 94.  All three of them were treated about the same way.

Buy it for 400 and sell it to me for 500.  Fastest 100 bucks you ever made

I think that is true until you take into account it is a 25-35.  Blue book says to add 100% to value for the 25-35.  $500 would be for a 25-35 at only 20% grade.  I do agree that it would need to be REALLY nice to make $1,000.  Hermetically sealed in an environmentally controlled safe to make $1650 :chuckle:
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
