Looking for a lightweight shell, waterproof and breathable. Curious if anyone has experience with the kuiu yukon or the boundary storm tight jacket. Or are there some others I should consider. Or I should say the Mrs should consider for my anniversary present...

I have the boundary stormtight which I used this year and absolutely loved it. Breathes great for a rain shell and pretty quiet as well. My hunting buddy had the Kuiu which was nice looking but it seemed much louder. The boundary had more ventilation due to the much larger put zips.

I have the first lite boundary storm tight jacket as well. I have no other comparisons but have worn it a number of times. It is light weight and breathes well. IT isn't quiet in my opinion but what rain gear is.

Good point, I should have clarified... It's pretty quiet for a rain jacket.
I used the Cabelas rain suede, quieter than first lite due to the brushed stuff outside but doesn't breath (although better than rivers west) and ended up getting wet around the shoulders. For around town I use a Patagonia rain shadow or something, very water proof doesn't breath nearly as well as the first lite.

Check out the lightweight rain gear shoot out on rokslide from last year, I think they compared the two and more

I have had the Yukon set since just before last season and have very happy with the performance. I very much like the cut and fit of the Yukon. I have no complaints so far... I will be in them again for late season. If you have any specific questions, let me know.

I have the FL Stormtite jacket and pants. Tried them out a couple of days in a good old fashioned Forks rain blackie huntin this year and they were awesome. Also wore them in Montana when it was snowing and again were awesome. They dry out quickly when it quits raining unlike the Cabelas mt050 or rain suede i have had in the past. One thing to the OP is the Kuiu Chugach would be more on line with the ultra light weight shells like the Stormtite not the Yukon.

I have the Yukon gear as well. Keeps you bone dry and is fairly quiet for a mid weight waterproof jacket. If you want just a shell, the chugach kuiu set is what you're after. But for late season and spring, the Yukon is what I wear. Great stuff.

I also have the stormtight set up and love it. I used to have the Cabelas Rain Suede. I have never tried the KUIU line of rain gear, but like others have said i have heard from some really good reviews on Rokslide that the KUIU was louder. I switched this year to all FL clothing and i have been very impressed. There customer service is awesome to. If you are ever headed north towards Seattle, you can PM me and come try it on and see how you like it. There sizes run a tad bigger than normal.

Kuiu Chugach for a light weight shell. Yukon is heavier but not much warmer imo.

I have the boundary pants, they are a bit loud, louder than kryptek for sure, but they breathe really well. The first three days of hunting i started to see some runs in the fabric, not sure if that's a bad sign for their reliability.

I'm in the market for a new rain coat as well. Been looking at the Chugach and Yukon and am interested in First lite as well. Can anyone speak to the durability of the Kuiu jackets? In regards to hunting the brush of the west side? Durability is my main concern.

The Yukon is built like a tank but I would go with the Chugach, its just more packable and lighter. I think it will holdup.
