My first buck
« on: October 19, 2014, 10:08:46 PM »
Got my first buck on the last day of the season. I never gave up but I was starting to think that i was going to eat my tag wich i thought was ok because it was my first season and im still learning. Then i came over a hill and what do you know this buck was standing right in front of me about 200 yards. I check him out to make sure he was legal and the whole time it felt like my heart was pumping in my throat. When i saw he was a shooter it made things worse. Got my rifle up and i could barely keep it steady. He must have smelled me because he looked up strait at me and then began to walk away. I hold my breath Pull the trigger and i nailed him right in the lungs. Saw him start to buckle walked 10 yards and that was it. What a rush never experienced anything like that in my life. I hunted hard for this buck and am so glad i did. This will be something ill never forget. Couldnt have ever done it on my own though. Thanks to my buddys that helped me out and to the ones on this forum that helped me out aswell. I appreciate it greatly.  :IBCOOL:

Way to suck it up & get the job done BigE.  Sounds like you are learning a lot, and doing things the right way.  Looks like you have the makings of a fine sportsman.  Congrats, that's a darned good buck!

Good Job BigE!!
Love to hear a new guy experiencing that "big rush"!!  That's what keeps us looking forward to that next adventure.  I've been at it for nearly 60 years and still get that same rush.   Love it.
