Very good job with the shot, great footage and it was nice to see it mean so much to her.

I don't know how you guys waited so long to go looking for it.  I guess I am just afraid of the dark but there is no way I'd wait until pitch dark to stumble around   :yike:

 :yeah:

I like her reaction to the shot much better than the whooping and hollering seen on so many hunting shows.   My wife reacts about the same way.  I'd have been down in daylight tracking as well, maybe you wanted the other folks to be in on the recovery?

We waited because that area is really nasty and thick. If we were to bump the deer it might have bolted and we would have never found it. Always better to give them more time to die than to rush it and possible loose the animal. Good lights and good blood it’s not that hard to track in the dark.

I guess being with others and in the low-country makes a big difference.  Makes sense

I found my bull right before dark this year.  Walking back to the truck to call for help, I was paralleled and semi-followed by two cougars which scared me pretty bad.  Thank God I had help breaking that bull down in the dark that night.

Awesome! It is very nice to see true emotion and not bravado over a dead animal. I have shed a couple tears over animals in the past, finally beginning to get over it as I get older. I have never whooped and yelled, but always gave a few moments of silent appreciation to the animals that I've killed.
I hunt, therefore I am.... I fish, therefore I lie.

Awesome! Great to capture that moment on film, shows a lot of respect for the animal. Hunting not killing, we should all have that moment of "emotion" after a harvest, however that looks to each. Very cool.
