New toy coming soon to Tri-Cities (UPDATED INFO!)
« on: December 14, 2008, 07:53:56 PM »
For those in the Tri-Cities area were are getting a great new toy to soon be opened at the Kennewick Ranch & Home Store. The store is currently constructing a new Archey section with a 10 lane range for league shoots, but the new toy is the hunting simulator that is almost finished. For a couple bucks you can go on a video simulated hunt that gives you 52 shots during the hunt. You use all your own gear with the exception of a blunt tip the store provides. I can't wait till its completed so I try it out. Are there any other such shooting simulators here in WA?

There was one similar to that in Yelm at one time. Brandy Knight (son to JZ Knight) had an Archery Shop and put one of these in. It was pretty fun, lot's of people lined up to use it. He is no longer in business.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

When I first got into bow hunting in 97', Toms Tackle in Tonasket(try saying that 10 times fast  :chuckle:) had one. You stood about 20 yards from the screen. It was a blast. We use to go up every weekend and shoot a few hundred times. My favorite disk was small game (rattlesnakes, gophers, coyotes).

I know I will be maing a few trips to Tri Cities once its in.

Keep us updated on the opening if you dont mind.

It was all (construction) supposed to have been completed 6 months ago but contractor issues delayed it. They hope to have it all completed come the new year. Since you're in Moses Lake you should be able to get 102.7 KORD and they will have announcements when it is all finished.

Scott

Thanks Gobble.

We should do a mini-meet-and greet at the new range with a few locals when it opens!

That sounds like it would be worth the drive to check out. Kyles gun in town had on when they where open. Unfortunately I wasn't into archery at the time.

Can we get one of these for our home?  My wife would never see me.

Sure if you have about 20 yards of clearance and can afford the 30K or so it costs.

That sounds like a pretty good time.  Keep us posted through this thread, and I may be able to make it over there with a buddy or two to try it out.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

I will be in the area of the store today. I'll go in and get some detailed info on it such as pricing and if reservations are possible and post it here. The range looks nice and I like their spiderweb targets they have. I've shot at them at a range near the Yakima airport (cant remember the name) and they are MUCH easier to remove an arrow than a layer target.
God Bless,
Scott

OK, Spoke to an employee at Ranch & Home. The hunt simulator is called "Techno Hunt" and it is already operational you just need to phone the store ahead of time so that they can get the computer software running. The store # is 509-737-1996 and ask for the Archery Department.

You can hunt from 1 to 4 persons at a time and hunt either by the half hour or hour. The prices are...
1/2 hour  $12 per person 1 person
              $10                 2
              $08                 3
              $05                 4

1 hour    $20 per person 1 person
             $15                 2
             $12                 3
             $10                 4
God Bless,
Scott
