Duck dog food
« on: September 28, 2014, 05:51:30 PM »
So I have been feeding my dog purina pro plan sport for a few months now and pretty happy with it so far. What does everyone else use for food for their duck dogs?

I use the kirkland signature one, I used purina one but it had too much corn...switch to this one and his farts don't smell as bad... :dunno:

I've made the switch to Purina PPS 30/20. Having good results as we've seen my boys already high endurance really kick into a new gear and is performing even better.

I feed my two dogs Blue Buffalo Large Breed. Not really a performance food, but boy is it good stuff. The doberman(wifes dog) and my lab have super shiny coats and don't get all dandruffy like when we feed them anything else. For pre-season and throughout, I just bump up my labs food by two cups.

I've been feeding my WHPG, Precise Endurance dry kibble, but at the trainer he was getting the Purina Pro Plan Sport, which he really seems to like. They're both 30/20 mix, but the Purina is cheaper ($1.33/lb local, or $1.17 online vs. $1.73/lb online), and easier to find, I can get it at almost any local pet store, the Endurance, I have to order in, so I always have to be careful to order it on time, or we won't have any food, so it's a bit of a PITA

Orijen is the top of the line when it comes to food.  A little pricey, but worth it.
