Donate your Deer hides to a great cause!
« on: October 23, 2014, 11:13:18 AM »
Hello!

My name is Kim Shelton and I Instruct two teen programs at Wilderness Awareness School, a non profit, in Duvall.

If you don't do anything with your hides, consider giving them to me to help teach and inspire the skill of brain tanning to our future generations.

You can contact me at 218-760-6258 or kimshelton356@hotmail.com
I will try to get back to you as soon as possible.
I would greatly appreciate any hides that would otherwise be left in the woods,

Thankyou for your time and energy,

Kim

Darn, I buried the hide from my deer on Tuesday in the back 40  :bash: !

If I get another one, how far are you willing to travel?

Knowing that may get you more offers or at least weed out the ones that are too far away.

Repost this message next year in mid-September, and you will have hunters from all weapon groups (archery, muzzleloader, and modern firearm) responding!  Hopefully you will get a response from the folks who will be hunting during the late seasons!  An excellent cause- glad the traditional skills are being taught.

What a wonderful idea, I will keep this in mind and share with others during the late hunt

I'd also like to know how far you can travel. Should the hides be kept frozen?

I have one you can have.  A week ago you could have had 5 from our group.
Cut em!

If anyone has a hide to donate and wants to come to Bellevue, I'll bring it the rest of the way to the school in Duvall. It's about 5 minutes from my house.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield
