My Son solo filmed his hunt
« on: October 23, 2014, 09:08:36 AM »
Opening day, my son and I are on opposite sides of the same ridge, about an hour into the morning I txt him that I have a small bull moose walking towards me.  He txts me back that he can see a small legal whitetail buck and that if he can get all his camera's set up he is going to take him.  So I wait.  Several minutes later a shot goes off, several seconds after that a second shot goes off.  I wait for him to radio me and wonder why two shots, did he miss, was the 2nd shot a followup shot?  Finally he radios me and tells me he tried to take a head shot, to get the kill shot on film and missed, then he caught it again moving through the brush/timber and got it on the 2nd shot.  When I reached him he had already found the deer and pointed out to me that its right ear was pierced.  His first shot missed to the left by an inch or 2 and went right through the base of the ear.  Here's the video, enjoy.
