need a new dog
« on: November 12, 2014, 06:29:02 PM »
So I am 16 and I was talking to my teacher and he said his lab had drowned on opening day. He was going out hunting with no intent on taking the dog (13 year old lab) and she had got out, when he got home he realized the pup was gonw he had looked for her that day and couldn't find it and that night so he went out to look for the old lab and she was floating there dead in the slough by his house. So if I could get some help finding a 2 year old lab would be great. Any color and any sex, doesn't have to be 2, 3 or 4 is fine too. Please help he's a great guy.

Stan Marsh: "My Uncle Jimbo says we gotta get up there early. Right Uncle Jimbo?"

Jimbo: "That's right, Stanley. Animals are much easier to shoot in the morning."

I would suggest checking with nearby animal shelter/humane society, etc.  A good hunting buddy of mine, a longtime guide, has always gotten his duck dogs from shelters, and they're always great duck dogs, just takes training.

Something like this:  http://www.petango.com/webservices/adoptablesearch/wsAdoptableAnimalDetails.aspx?id=24115136&css=http://petango.com/WebServices/adoptablesearch/css/styles.css

I don't know how much money he wants to spend but Conway Kennels has older trained dogs for sale sometimes.   Just an idea.  www.conwaykennels.com

Other breeders may have options for you too.

Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue might be able to help with a relatively cheap adult dog. Keep in mind any adult dog from a reputable hunting kennel will more than likely be a 'finished' dog and the cost will be accordingly (well over 1k.)

Right now SPDR has 2 Weims and a Visla, but seem to move through dogs fairly regularly, so check back often.

I've also seen a few labs on CL for cheap, usually from military families on the move in the Fort Lewis area.
