I love my new Savage .308 win. Its great got my first buck with it this year and cant be more happy with the performance, ammo availability, and accuracy. Paired up with glass from nikon winning combo  :chuckle:

I've never cared to shoot anything much bigger than a 270 or 30-06.

I can tell you though the coolest rifle I ever shot was a Jarrett in 220 Jaybird.  What a piece of equipment that was.

I love shooting my 7mm Weatherby Magnum loaded with Nosler 175 grn Partitions pushed by 80 grns of H870 at approximately 3000fps. Flat out knocks the monkey crap out of the animal and you. My wife loves shooting her Win .270 with 130 grn partitions pushed by 55 grns of IMR 4350 at 3000 fps. Both will put down deer or elk and anything in between. I say find the one bullet that performs the best in your rifle and then create a load for it.

My 3 top calibers that I own are a  6.5 284  300wsm and my 257wby. the 284 being the most accurate
