My 375 BME. :chuckle: I can't think of anything that it wouldn't put down pretty quick, and it sure beats the 308!

6mm BR, 308, 300 WSM, 338/375 Ruger, 375 BME.

Seriously, at the moment I really like the 358 Winchester in a short barreled carbine for an all round caliber.

I've warming up more and more to the .250-3000 as a favorite.  60 grain for small game and up to 117 grain for bigger stuff.

If We could really size this up and not get out of bounds, I think the 30 06 is the best gun. Plan on giving my grandson this rifle to do it all.

Been a quarter bore fan all my life.  But after spending time with the .323 that may be changing!

I'm with the OP on this. I love my 30-06 and it also loves 165 gr. boattails. I've killed everything from grouse, to snowshoe hares, hogs, deer, elk and moose with it and never change my load. I'd rather keep my zero than mess with success. It's the gun I have confidence in and it's easy to find bullets and they are usually pretty reasonable.

For the game mentioned, and me only hunting deer and elk with an opportunity black bear thrown in and maybe pronghorn and moose someday, I'll stick with what I have and never look back.

280AI with a 150 TTSX. No need for anything more out to 500 yards
