New to Washington and looking for a Hunting partner
« on: October 26, 2014, 08:26:43 PM »
Hello everyone. I am 47 married and we have 4 girls. I am a avid archery hunter and i just moved here from Oregon about 2 months ago. I am looking for someone to hunt with in 2015. I have been archery hunting for 20 years and have harvested several elk. I usually hunt NE Oregon. I have never hunted in Washington and I have no idea how or where to start looking for areas to archery hunt. Are there any OTC elk tags in Eastern or Central Washington?

Thanks

Mark

Hey Guys,

My name is Roger.  I've hunted mainly eastern and central WA for muley/whitetail and elk.  I'm 42 and have two kids (my son, Ethan is 16 and also hunts).  We've mainly hunted archery but this year are hunting modern due to a schedule conflict during archery season.

You can get an elk tag OTC but you have to declare east or west (of the cascade range) when you purchase it, then you have to stick to that area for the entire season.  There are some draws that you can put in for, but anyone can hunt elk with an OTC tag.

PM/Reply to chat further.  I've been hunting since I was 16 and know Eastern WA quite well.

My friend and I are also new to hunting/this area. We came up empty for deer and elk thus far but are willing to go bird hunting this year.  26 and 30, I'm married he's not. No kids for either of us.

Hi Mendozer,

You must have hunted archery or ML?

Shoot me a PM and let me know where you guys hunted this season.  Perhaps we could connect for soon.

We're you able to get out hunting this year?  I hope you had success.  I'm 32 with 3 three kids and new to archery, looking to go out hunting in 2015.  I've lived in Washington my whole life but just have never really gotten into hunting until now.  I'd love to learn more about bow hunting and find some places to scout this summer.
