150 miles and zero sign. Stopped at the Taxidermist in Wieppe. He had 5 in there.................from last year and hasn't heard of 1 being shot this year..................drats !!

Went up to Wallace for 2 days and saw sign up Shoshone Creek east of Pritchard. I was very foggy everyplace I went. I called with no response. Talked to a trapper from Salmon Idaho and he said it was weird that wolves weren't being seen. I still have till the end of December.......

I cut quite a few tracks the last few days of the deer season (Church).  There was a rain just before I got there so much of it was really fresh.  In one area I was in, nearly every time I saw deer/elk tracks I also found Wolf sign/tracks.  After a bit I also noticed the woods were "dead", no sounds of squirrel's going about their business or ravens, or anything really.  I'm not blaming that on the wolves but I don't like "dead" woods, I got outa there.     

I didn't hear them this year though, that was disappointing.  It is unnerving and makes for a long night (in a tent by yourself in the middle of nowhere) but at the same time it is also amazing.

I have eaten 3 Grey Wolf tags now, I don't know if I will ever run across one, but the novelty of having one is worth it.  Maybe we will get even one day....
