what waders do you have?
« on: October 30, 2014, 07:45:52 PM »
My waders of roughly 12 yes are finally giving up on me. I'm looking at the new areotuff waders from lacrosse. But think that the 7 mm in  the boot along with The 1500 gram insulate might be overkill. So with that what waders do you guys have and use?

Do you use those all season? Does the 1600 grams get pretty warm on a walk in?

 :yeah:

I have got tired of replacing the neoprene every year because of leaks that can't be repaired!! I am on my 3rd year with the USIA Waders.

I have the Cabela's Super Mags. They are hot on the long hikes, but I went for a swim and still stayed warm enough to stay out till we limited. I wanted to get the new Rogers waiters but they weren't out till after the season started.

Cabelas breathables, I do a lot of walk INS and they are like hiking in a set of dress pants and I'm not soaked to the skin when I get there.  One set is large enough to get an extra pair of wool socks in.  With a pair of heavy polar fleece liners they are just as warm as neos for me.  You couldn't get me in another pair of neos.  I have snagged them on bolts and wire and the rips were easy to repair with shoe goo and a piece of cloth.  I'm looking at a set of Rogers breatheables to replace my oldest pair as the lining in the boots is worn out in the heel area from walking so far in them.

i have some hodgman with 1000g boots they  are pretty comfortable got the stout ones which is nice cuz i have short legs  they are warm for the opener but my feet get cold later in the season. wish i could figure out the cold foot issue . i think its becaise my feet sweat too much and get wet and cant warm back up but i will prob go with 12-1600g boots next time. ha maybe a year left on mine got quite a few slices and holes in the neoprene. Hey guys with the usia waders are they loud? looked into them a few times but never pulled the trigger.

I'm on my 6th yr with a pr of Cabelas Ultimate Hunting waders. One hole(fixed)that I did on a buddies blind. Otherwise no problems and I really like them. 5mm and ? in the boot. I can easily recommend them. I really like the velcro shoulder straps - no buckles to get in the way or under your recoil pad and you never have to adjust them since it doesn't matter where the velcro lands.

My waders are 46 years old never leak, sometimes depending on the time of year they get cold, but never let me down yet, every morning they are there willing to get going for what ever they are asked to do.

Oh by the way I was born with them.  :chuckle:   :yike:

I only ask cause I never get 20 hints out of a pair until the USIA waders. I was buying or replacing 3 or 4 pairs a year.

Those USIA waders look like pants? No boot attached by the pics. Is that correct? How do your feet stay dry/warm like that?
