Last year was the first year I bow hunted after a 7 year break. I moved to the wet side and took vacation to come home to hunt W/T's w/my daughters who rifle hunt. I started back in '86 with a bear 55lb recurve than a 68lb longbow than compound. My old bow was 12 years old so I purchased a solo cam bow, (low end starter bow) April of '13. This bow was ok, but it was not forgiving, couldn't quite it down, tons of hand shock and it took along time to get the hang of how to shoot consistence groups with it. I didn't have a pro shop near so I bought it at a sporting goods store without giving it a try. So after I arrowed my biggest buck to date this year the passion of bow hunting came back. I was getting ready to quite because this bow wasn't fun to shoot. So yesterday I was at the local archery shop and tried out the Hoyt Faktor 30, new for 2014. The shop owner put a whisker biscuit rest and string loop on a bow so I could give it a try. Wow, is all I can say. No peep, no site pins at 10yds I shot 2" groups. No hand shock and very quite. For a bear bow I was impressed. It was marked down, I talked to my wife and I pulled the pin and took it home. If I get it dialed in I might give it a try on fall turkey this month. Pro shops are nice, with the purchase I get 10% off all accessories and free indoor shooting for 6 months.
