Entiat Late Rifle Mule Deer

The time has finally arrived.  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:  I'll be heading out next weekend to set up camp and start hunting on the 10th. My friend who i applied with on this hunt will be coming up the following Wednesday.
I went up opening weekend for the general season to get the lay of the land and see what the roads are like and such. Took two of my nephews on their first deer hunt since they had just got their hunter cards the weekend before. They were off the wall excited and we  did see a few deer. Actually could have gotten a decent buck for them but was to long of a shot for them.  :dunno:
I might try to keep updates if it works out.

Nice pics....and good luck.  I will be up there quite a bit hunting with my camera.  Should be a good year.

I didn't see any hunters in the neighboring units and the deer I saw were sniffing butt...... Not sure I wouldn't here now.

Well... I got camp set up Sunday evening.
Monday morning up bright and early and cold finally (26*). Located some deer right away. I think it was the same 3 point that we saw in general and was to long a shot for the boys. Later in the day saw another group of deer with a decent buck sniffing around fairly aggressively. He was in such a hurry going from one group of does to the next I could hardly keep up with the spotter.
Tue morning woke up to fresh snow. Clouds down at 3000 feet so gonna cruise the low country.

Any body know if there is an elk in entiat unit? I have a multi season elk tag.

Very few. It would be almost as likely as seeing Bigfoot.
