What options are they considering?  It would be stupid to open the early elk season before Labor Day.

Oregon's archery elk season opens in late August. I haven't heard of Oregon elk hunters saying their season is "stupid."  :dunno:

I think a lot of folks were voting for the "start the first Saturday after labor day" option.this will allow archers to hunt as late as September 25th or 26th in some years.that would be the best season option I have seen since I have hunted here.

I'll be buying an archery elk tag for sure if they go with the Saturday after Labor Day opener.

  I've never had any problem getting a bull with the early season but I do like hearing more bugling

With that option the earliest the season would start would be September 6th.

They have a month season 8/30-9/28. If Washington had that season you wouldn't hear anyone complaining... Except for the rifle guys?  :chuckle:

I like the early sept hunts.  But probably just cause I've never hunter late sept.  Any way atleast there considering options.
