Painting your pan will increase your catch on coon, otter and skunks.......

It's different they have to check it out, fully visible. Curiosity killed the cat.

When i used leg hold traps for coons when I was a kid, we wrapped the pan with tin foil.

Lots of guys back here are using the dog proof traps and either painting them white or glow in the dark and they are outcatching the brown or regular dyed traps sitting right next to them.
