She's been with me while Ive been skinning and constantly asks if she can do it too. I've thought about just giving her a dull knife and just let her go nuts. Maybe I'll save my next blue coon just for her.

that's cool, my daughter is 16 and backs up to her horse trailer, hooks it up and loads 2 horses in it and hauls down the road. whatever guy gets her is gonna have a 100 pound tough gal that can take care of herself. oh ya she is a crack shot

Well I haven't done too much trapping the last couple weeks and figured it was time to throw some cages back in the water since my cat trapping was getting to be a big waste of time and money so far. Plus I was getting low on cat bait.
I built a dozen nice cat traps and put them out around the first of December until almost Christmas and all I had was skunks bothering the traps. I know there were cats looking into my traps but getting them to commit to going in is something I'm trying to fix. Anyhow, I'm happy to finally have some fur and more bait. I'm guessing he was probably 30 lbs.

Sometimes its just nice to get out and play in the water! Great job on them beaver. Cat trapping isn't as easy as some on here make it out to be.

That's for sure! I've got a few tactics I'm going to try in the next few weeks to see if I can change the game in favor.

From what I've learned (and what I've been told) the last few years, seems like its not worth wasting your time going after cats until February. Thats not to say you won't catch a cat early in the season, its just not as probable until the last two months of season. Next year, I'm not going to set any cat sets until February no matter how much cat sign I see.

:chuckle:  Funny, I was just thinking today that I need to pull my sets because I never catch anything after January unless it's very cold. WAAAY too warm right now.
