I don't want to hug him about elk hunting after that.
He probably appreciates that.

i talked to the biologist up there and he said they put s radio color on a 420 bull last year in 6 ft of snow, so I went out and bought myself a pair of snow shoes yesterday. Thanks for all the help guys, I'll keep you guys posted on the hunt. And if anyone has anything else or wants to tag along let me know. Much appreciated for all the help.

Wow.  I'd sure be pissed to kill one of the state's biggest bulls ever and have to buy a cape. I wonder what their reasoning was on capturing a bull that big and collaring it in 6' of snow? Perhaps a way to locate him when one on the inside "draws" the late Dec tag......like maybe in month.... :dunno: :chuckle:

 :yeah:
They will be all down on private land by then , the snow will be a couple feet deep atleast by then.
:yeah: but there maybe snow or may not. Second the private ground.  Not all will be on private but the vast majority will be. If you have not secured any private ground it will definetly be tough.

Driving threw the area last week. Seen a really big bull with a perfect 6 with whale tail on his left side.his right side was busted off right at his 3rd. Would have been a beautiful bull before be busted off.

I have an archery tag right now. No bulls up high that I have seen. I haven't even seen an elk track up high.
