Camper Roof Vents Sealant/Caulk
« on: November 03, 2014, 12:46:40 PM »
With these last few weeks of heavy rain I recently discovered a small wet spot inside my slide in camper next to a roof vent.  Evidently it is way past time to reseal my roof.  Have not done this repair before, but my research has lead me to believe there are only a couple of acceptable caulking/sealant compounds suitable for this application.  There is ProFlex RV and  Dicor Self-Leveling Lap Sealant - White.  Please feel free to chime in if someone has used this stuff on your camper and what the results were.  They are supposed to work for rubber and TPO roofs.

Anyone on here with actual experience with these types of sealant products?

Have used the self leveling stuff and worked good. Did it in the shop where I could get it dry and clean before application.

I just resealed with Proflex. My roof is a one piece with the self leveling white.
But everything else get a re seal with proflex. Do it every year or your camper will rot from the inside out.
Insurance will not cover this maintenence.

just did my truck camper. used proflex, seems to get the job done. I always carry an extra tube in case I am out and  a new leak appears. Also carry a tube of rv goop just in case.

A lot good responses.  I am feeling better that I am on the right track in this camper repair.  Mine is a 2005 Lance 835.  Thank you all for the advice.
