I've shot a lot of mule deer and whitetail. Their both beautiful deer, but I would have to put a 30-06 round in that whitetail. Honestly, either deer would make me just as thrilled.

You know....we need our own Hunt-Wa lottery. Each year any forum member that wants to participate puts $50 in the pot. Mid summer rolls around and one name is drawn. The winner...say myself...then gets to follow Bone around for a week to see if they can find an elk/whitetail/muley/bear......and then kill it. The total pot goes to forum servers/charity whatever.

Done it. Twice I think. A few years back...original Joshua Cup.

I'd take the whitetail because I see him as the biggest for the species and it is easier for me to find a bigger mulie.

Whitetail only because I have never killed one that size. I have several mule deer in that class. Still wouldn't be easy to pick in the field.

Ask me after next week!  Headed to WI Sunday for a whitetail hunt.  Suppose to be some monsters in the region where we will be hunting.  I keep telling myself to hold out for one over 170, but I'm not so good at passing bucks over 140 :chuckle:

Normally I'm a muledeer guy.  But that has a lot to do with how and where I am hunting.  If I bump them both together...that whitetail looks pretty dang good!  Plus, I'm not so sure I can get an arrow through that fence.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Guys, this is an easy one!  I'd win the 3 deer raffle so I could just lay down the pair and then spend the rest of the fall looking for a huge blacktail and hunting out of state:-)

I am shooting the mule deer, I have always wanted a solid 4x4 for some reason. Also I figure I will be able to hunt whitetails long after mule deer hunting is shut down in our state  :bash:.
