I do know there were multiple players trying to get in on the action.  Some tried by attempting to create rumors with no foundation.  Matt personally reached out and asked them to squelch the talk.  So I think most of what guys are hearing is hogwash spread by jealous (or overly optimistic) competition reps.  Best idea is to not believe anything until the official press release hits.  Nothing is done unless it's officially done.  Wouldn't surprise me at all if Matt walks away from even the best of deals if it doesn't feel right to him.  Nice to hold all the leverage in your life, isn't it?!

I had heard last week that Matt was attempting to reach key people asking them to stop the talk.  Today D-Rock sent me a copy of a letter from Matt (not sure to whom it was addressed) saying the company was not for sale.  Looked genuine enough to me. :dunno:  Put the two together and it looks like the potential news has become "No News!".  Maybe that is why I was told to wait and watch the Outdoor Wire if and when it happened.

I myself like that Mathews will continue to be a private company.  The original news I had gotten didn't make a lot of sense for the well being of Mathews.  That is why I mentioned I was "Shocked".  Mathews fans should be pleased the news was "Nothing to see here!"  Sometimes the best move is no move at all.  Even though I am not a big Mathews fan I was glad to hear and see what I did today.

You were the third person today :tung: :tung: :tung:

I still have not found out who that letter was addressed to though.  Was supported just a little while ago by my Mathews insider.  That's about as close to real info as I can get.

That is a smart move on their part.  Now if they would just get rid of that cross over cable atrocity all would be grand in Mathews land!

:yeah: Crossover cable, what the heck?
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I believe radsav is talking about this little black rubber thing on the cable next to the "wheel".

That would be the coffee straw!  The cross over system is the same lame attempt to eliminate cam lean as Bowtech attempted to do with their Binary for a few years.  Others tried and trashed the idea before it really made it to market.

It basically counter acts the torque applied to power side of the cam by adding almost equal torque to the control side.  Similar to what a Yoke would do if you weren't interested in properly fine tuning your yoke.

Unlike a yoke it originates close to the string lobe of the cam.  So as it crosses over from the left side of the cam to the right side where the cable guard is it often rubs on the cam if the shot is not perfect or the oscillations are too violent.  So, unlike Bowtech, Mathews put the clip on coffee straw there to keep from cutting the cable.  No Cam shooters would be wise to carry a couple dozen extra if they plan on hunting outside a blind or in a tree.

Basically it is cheaper than a yoke and WAY cheaper than a Monster Cam.  And since it is on a split limb you shouldn't see too many broken limbs.  My biggest beef is it clouds the sight picture and annoys me :chuckle:

The NoCam is a great idea that fits well with Mathews history of making smooth to draw and smooth to shoot bows.  They just need to finish it the right way...and maybe make it a bit less fugly!
