Resizing Question
«
on:
November 04, 2014, 08:31:33 PM »
Curious, I fire form my brass and then neck resized. I noticed the shoulder exceeds SAAMI specs. Is this due to that chamber being a little larger than the norm or is my brass not contracting enough when shot.

If at this point you can chamber a loaded round then the chamber could be just a little long, no harm no foul.

Thanks, yeah they load pretty good but pulling one out that hasn't been shot hangs up a little. Thinking i may have a burr in the chamber. Savage Edge $280 dollar rifle brand new, so they may have missed some reaming? Shoots like a dream though.

Some of that new cleaning stuff can make an unfired round hard to eject, and it can also "glue in" a hot fired case. Make sure your chamber is clean. I love Patch-Out, but I clean my chamber with Hoppes #9 and dry patch it after I'm done cleaning the gun, and if the gun has sat idle for a while...

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.
When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Good points.I use Butch's and it seems to get every last drop of residue out of there. I thought that may be the case too. Figured a blast of Rem Oil in the action before I go out may not hurt.
