Have you had a chance to try out the meat? Just curious how it tastes

I haven't yet, but tomorrow I think we'll try some backstrap steaks.

I forgot to mention, Ric rough scored it at 161 3/8.

Congrats Bob, you got one heck of a ram and it sounds like it was a very memorable hunt for all involved.  Maybe I can will myself to get an OIL tag next year like you did this year.  :chuckle:

Congratulations Bob.   That's about the best on the mountain.   It will be awhile but I will look for past photos of him.  Great ram!

Nice job Bobcat  Probably already mentioned above, but how many points did you have when drawn?

I had 16 points. But here's the trick if you want to get drawn...

I had applied every year since 1997. But I skipped 2012 and 2013. After missing those two years, I decided to go ahead and apply in 2014. Thus, why I only had 16 points when I should have had 18.

But it worked!

Also, and maybe this is what sealed the deal- I did all my other applications a month before the deadline (quality deer, quality elk, buck deer, bull elk, antlerless elk, bull moose, antlerless moose). Then the day before the deadline I bought and submitted my application for bighorn sheep.

I drew nothing except for the sheep. So this is a method I might try for moose next year!

I think Ridge drew OIL in back to back years.

Congrats Bobcat.  That's a great ram

Ridge didn't draw back to back but close, moose in 08 with 10 points and sheep in 10 with 12 points.

I'd be fine with a moose tag in 2016.
