I think around 3200 feet or so. Not too far from town. Saw tons of deer

I shot an antelope, missed a deer (scope turret was one whole revolution off, long story) and had two chances at elk. The first one I left my spot 20 minutes early and the second I passed on a 450 yard shot into a very, very tight herd of probably 150 head.
Opener was 70 degrees in the afternoon, hopefully you got some better weather.

Heading to region 7 on the 15th. I know it's a few days away and the weather has been changing, but do any if you guys that have come back have a road condition report? Usually we can make it there in 18 hours but want to plan accordingly. There wasn't snow this time last year.

Smooth drive for us. Cold as heck though. 3 degrees and about 25mph winds.
We did take a quick drive once we got here and saw about 10 bucks and they are chasing like crazy. Should be fun!

Well we got back from our trip . No deer . We seen some small bucks the first day and a few does . Don't waste your time around st Regis . Unit 200-201 there are to meany wolves . Every one we talked to siad they shoot any deer with horns becouase the wolves have wiped out the herds. Wendsday night we had a pack of wolves howllin just out side of camp. First time ever hearing a pack. Very earry felling Talked to a guide over there.showed us a pic of a friend with 224 lb male wolf.

Still have to have a permit. To any of the locals it's open year round. Every one that we talked to said SSS. After seen what they've done to that state. This state is in for a big surprise . I still say let's put some in every park there is in the city so the tree huggers can seefirst hand what they are doing.

Made it over here. Roads were pretty slick the whole way. Seeing quite a few deer. Shot over a nice 4pt yesterday. Below zero and windy the first two days. Have to put beer in the fire before you can drink it or else is freezes up. At least it's out of the negative degree weather now so the deer should start moving a bit more. Still have a few days before I decide to meat hunt. Good luck to everyone else
