It can go lots of different ways. Depends on what arrow rest you have?

Yeah, it depends on your rest.  Most commonly it goes up (if you use a Whisker Biscuit or some of the "capture" rests) but if you have a full clearance (drop away) rest it probably doesn't matter at all as long as none of the vanes make contact with the rest or the bow.
